Taktsang Hike
View

The hike to Paro Taktsang is the single most popular walking route in Bhutan. The trail climbs steadily through blue pine and rhododendron forest, passing a cafeteria viewpoint roughly halfway up before continuing to the monastery perched on a cliff face 900 meters above the valley. The final approach involves a descent into a narrow gorge and a climb up steps carved into the rock face. Allow four to five hours round trip and carry water — the altitude and steepness catch many visitors off guard.
