Permit Information
Guide accompaniment is the practical standard for international visitors in Bhutan.
Phobjikha and Gangtey offer some of Bhutan's gentlest and most scenic walking routes. The landscape is broad and open compared with the tighter western valleys, making it especially rewarding for visitors interested in quiet terrain, birdlife, and a slower pace of travel. Gangtey Monastery and the valley floor give the trail network both cultural and ecological interest, especially during the black-necked crane season from late October through February.
