About this place

Haa is one of Bhutan's least-visited valleys and one of its most rewarding for travelers seeking quiet. Reached by crossing the Chele La pass (3,988m) from Paro, the valley is greener and more forested than its neighbors, with scattered traditional villages and a pair of ancient temples — Lhakhang Karpo (White Temple) and Lhakhang Nagpo (Black Temple). The annual Haa Summer Festival in July showcases nomadic traditions, local food, and yak-herding culture. Haa offers a glimpse of rural Bhutan with minimal tourist infrastructure and genuine village life.
